Wednesday Afternoon - Expecting to stay pretty dry for most of us today. A streamline of moisture moving in towards our far eastern counties may spark a few showers/thunderstorms for McCurtain, Lamar, Fannin, Choctaw and Pushmataha counties. Temperatures are dependent on cloud cover and rain, still running warm with highs in the low to mid 80s. We have been upgraded to a level 3 out of 5 risk for severe weather tonight. Timing is closer to 7 pm and will last through about 4 am Thursday morning. Winds to 80 mph, up to baseball size hail, and a few tornadoes will be possible. Tornado threat will be along the leading edge where we'll watch for brief spin-ups. Flood Watch is already in effect for McCurtain, Lamar and Fannin county. Rainfall totals could reach up to 4-5" in isolated areas. Most will see about 1-3" tonight into Thursday.

Looking Ahead - Severe threat will end before daybreak Thursday, but can't rule out a few lingering showers/storms. Clouds will slowly exit the area by Thursday afternoon, but it'll still be cool! Thanks to this potent cold front, highs will drop to the 70s Thursday and Friday. A reinforcing front rolls in late Friday, bringing a strong north wind and even cooler temps for the weekend. Morning lows dip to the mid and upper 40s, so dust off those heavier jackets! Afternoons will be nice and fall-like, upper 60s and low 70s. Gradually getting warmer next week, but do-able with highs in the low 80s.

Tracking the Tropics - Tropical Storm Philippe is forecast to remain a fish storm in the Atlantic with no threat to the US.
