Increased fire danger this weekend
(KTEN) — Fire danger concerns are increasing ahead of this weekend’s weather pattern. Gusty winds and dry conditions will be the main fuel for the potential for rapidly spreading wildfires in Texoma.
With rainfall deficits ranging from 3 inches to 17 inches, extreme fire danger will be present throughout the weekend.
Red Flag Warnings were issued for some Oklahoma counties for potential fire risks on October 20.
These gusty winds are fueled by an approaching low pressure system that will bring a cold front through Texoma.
A soaking rain could bring some drought relief to Texoma as upwards of 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall through October 25.
