Cybersecurity Awareness Month tips

(KTEN) — It's Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a good reminder to change your passwords if you haven't in a while.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency outlines several ways you can keep yourself safe online, including watching where you click when it comes to phishing links and keeping passwords complicated so they're not easily guessable.
"Maybe think about a lyric to your favorite song, or a couple titles of books," suggested Deron McElroy, Chief of Cyber Security. "String those words together in the form of your password. Substitute letters for numbers; for example a '3' resembles a backwards 'E.'"
Security experts say lots of people are unknowingly hacked every day, something that can impact your your life in a range of ways — from losing pictures to losing money.
