Van Alstyne moves forward with public safety facility
VAN ALSTYNE, Texas (KTEN) — The City of Van Alstyne has chosen Brandstetter Carroll, a Kentucky-based architectural firm, to be lead development and design of new public safety building.
City Manager Lane Jones said he is meeting with the architects at the end of this month.
"The design process itself, I think, will last about six months," he said. "As soon as that is done, we'll let the contract for build, make a selection that will take about 90 days to do."
The facility will house Van Alstyne's police and fire departments.
Jones expects construction to begin at the end of next year.
