GUNTER, Texas (KTEN) - The Gunter Tigers knew scheduling Brock would not be an easy task. However, it is exactly the type of test they wanted early in the season.

Gunter came out with a narrow 21-16 victory to improve to 4-0 this season.

"We talked to the kids, this was an opportunity to go play a great football team," said Gunter head football coach Jake Fieszel. "We definitely are really proud of our kids and I think we got a lot out of it."

Senior players for Gunter also think getting some close-game experience will help come playoff time. The Tigers trailed 3-0 at halftime but never strayed away from the game plan.

"We never really put our heads down," said Gunter senior Ivy Hellman. "We knew from the get go it was gonna be a four-quarter ball game."

Gunter will play its final non-district game at Gladewater on Friday. The Tigers will then have a bye week before squaring off with Bells in a Texoma showdown.
