SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — A Sherman man was arrested Monday after gunfire at a hotel left a woman wounded.

Police said officers responded to a report of shots being fired at the Crossroads Inn Motel at 2424 Texoma Parkway just south of U.S. 82 around 7:40 a.m. 

Officers found an 32-year-old woman who had been shot.

"Officers and criminal investigation detectives have set up a scene here where they will be processing the evidence, as well as another scene in an apartment complex to the north," said Sherman police spokesperson Lt. Jeremy Cox.

The name and condition of the victim were not available late Monday morning.

Police later arrested Dakiran Howard-Polk on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No bond has been set.
