Tropical Storm Fiona forms in the Atlantic
Tropical Storm Fiona formed in the tropical Atlantic in the evening hours of September 14. The GOES East satellite is currently watching the storm from about 22,000 miles above the Earth’s surface.
Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings have been issued for portions of the Leeward Islands ahead of the storm’s approach.
Fiona is forecast to clip Puerto Rico in the coming days as the storm continues its track toward the mainland United States.
Impacts to the United States cannot be ruled out at this moment as Fiona moves closer to the Lower 48.
