Anna man sentenced for child sexual assault
(KTEN) — An Anna man who was convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Bells has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Prosecutors showed the court that 44-year-old Denny Edward Miller's DNA was found during the victim's physical exam after the assault was reported to Bells police in August 2020.
The child also identified Miller has the attacker.
"This defendant violated the trust of a child who considered him family, leaving a wound that will take significant time to heal," said Assistant District Attorney Don Hoover in a written statement.
Miller will be at least 64 years old before he is eligible for parole. He is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
District Attorney Brett Smith said the Children's Advocacy Center played a crucial role in this case.
