ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) —Ardmore's taxpayers have a shiny new fire truck to show off.

The rig will give the Ardmore Fire Department more capabilities in the field, including a ladder on top of the truck, and a 1,000 gallon water tank.

"The citizens of Ardmore, they're going to love seeing it drive up and down the road, and we want them to come ask about it and see it," said firefighter and driver Colton Carter. "It's their truck; we borrow it and drive it to where they need us."

The truck was fully funded by Ardmore's GAPS sales tax. The price tag for the rig was $540,000.

With its arrival, AFD will get a boost in fighting the fires that have been crippling Texoma this summer.
