LAKE MURRAY, Okla. (KTEN) — A teenage boy drowned at Lake Murray late Sunday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the unnamed 17-year-old was attempting to swim from the Buzzards Roost campground shoreline to a boat dock when he went under the water and failed to resurface. He had not been wearing a personal flotation device.

Search teams used radar to locate the victim's body in 21 feet of water 150 feet south of the boat ramp early Monday morning.

There have been at least four other drownings at Lake Murray so far in 2022.
