SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Chad Michael Rider, an Anna chiropractor who prosecutors said helped a Denison church pastor create child pornography at the church, was convicted Friday on multiple charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas said evidence introduced during Rider's five-day federal trial showed him helping former Church of the Nazarene pastor David Pettigrew set up to film children while bathing at the house of worship.

"One of the sacred safe havens for children is the church and all it stands for," said U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston in a written statement. "Yet Rider and his conspirators purposefully used it as a lure to bring children in and then, despicably, exploited those children for their own perverted gratification."

Rider, 48, faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison on each of the three counts for which he was convicted.

Rider will be sentenced at a later date.

Pettigrew was sentenced last August to a 30-year prison term.
