ATOKA, Okla. (KTEN) — Oklahoma authorities were searching Monday for an inmate who escaped from the Howard McLeod Correctional Center in Atoka.

Arturo Cabrera, 31, had been jailed since last September. He was declared missing shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Cabrera's rap sheet includes charges for stealing vehicles and eluding police.

Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park said Cabrera remained at large on Monday afternoon. Investigators believe he may be attempting to travel to the area of Plano, Texas. If you see him, call 911 immediately.

Cabrera is described as 5'-8" tall, 170 pounds, with several tattoos, including a cross tattoo on his back.
