Made-in-Denison movie makes streaming debut
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — A horror movie made in Denison is making its debut.
"The Summoned" was filmed last winter on the Texas side of Lake Texoma. It received an R rating for its dramatic sequences.
Director and producer Mark Scheibmeir said they faced plenty of challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and Winter Storm Uri.
"We were shooting for about five days before the winter storm hit, so it created some logistical and continuity problems, but fortunately we were able to reset," he said.
The location at a spooky lakeside lodge was chosen because Scheibmeir is from Sherman. He said the location blew them away.
"It's such a gorgeous property, and its got such a beautiful view," added actress and producer Angela Gulner. "It is really interesting, because you cannot exactly tell where we are in the country; it does not look particularly like Texas, but it doesn't look like another place."
The Summoned is now available to rent or purchase on demand or you can find it on Amazon Prime.
