DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — For those who are hungry, homeless, or can't afford a meal, Best Burger Barn in Denison offers a free meal during normal business hours.

"Identifying that there is a need that people are hungry in our community — and again, as we can't serve everyone — we can certainly do our best where we can," said co-owner Rick Rambo.  "People find themselves in difficult situations from time to time, and — for whatever reason — we just feel that it's important to support our community."

The restaurant doesn't believe in anyone going hungry, and any customer who isn't able to afford their meal can simply let their server know.

"The server can say, 'That is no problem; we can help you,' and that's just kind of what we do."

And as inflation continues to rise, Best Burger Barn wants more hungry Texomans to know their doors are open.

"We never have broadcasted it before," said Rambo. "It was just something that we did, but we put a sign on the door to let people know this is a safe place for you to come if you're hungry."

Best Burger Barn will continue making sure Texomans aren't left hungry, and if you or someone you know is in need of food resources, reach out to the restaurant at 214-444-5224.
