COPPELL, Texas (KTEN) - Before Pottsboro could even take an at-bat, the game was in doubt for the Cardinals. The highly anticipated UIL regional finals match up was a one-sided affair in the opening game on Wednesday. Gunter scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning, batting through its lineup.

From there, the Tigers rolled to a 15-1 victory in five innings but had to wait some time to do so. The game was delayed for multiple hours because of a weather delay.

With the win, Gunter takes a 1-0 series lead. Game two will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Prosper High School.
