FORNEY, Texas (KTEN) - The Pottsboro Cardinals handled White Oak 3-1 to sweep the UIL 3A Regional semifinals round.

The Cardinals won game one 11-0 on Thursday but on Friday, Pottsboro found themselves in a tighter battle. Jaxson Jester hit an opposite-field RBI single to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead in the top of the second.

Pottsboro then added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning courtesy of RBIs from Jester again and senior outfielder Jake Kubik.

Aaron Massie started the game on the mound for the Cardinals and delivered for his squad, only allowing one run.

Pottsboro will now face the winner of Gunter and Harmony in the regional finals.
