Denison football holds spring game scrimmage
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - The Denison Yellow Jackets wrapped up their spring football period with an intra-squad spring game scrimmage on Monday night.
Coming off of a playoff appearance in 2021, the Yellow Jackets will have to replace a lot of their senior production from last season.
Head coach Brent Whitson seemed pleased with how his younger guys have responded so far.
"We had a really good spring," said Whitson. "I told them afterwards we're 21 days better than the day we started, which is exactly where we needed to be.
Players on the team spoke highly of the early chemistry that the team has already started to form.
"The bond that we've created with these teammates is one that's just unbeatable," said quarterback Joshua Kurtenbach.
Denison opens its season on August 26 against arch-rival Sherman.
