DURANT, Oklahoma (KTEN) - On Saturday 32 teams competed in the C4 Sports Performance Red River Shootout 7-on-7 football tournament.

The Tournament had teams as young as 10-years old and as experienced as 18-years old. In 7-on-7 football, there are no lineman, it is strictly played by skill position players, a dream for wide receivers and defensive backs.

Sean Cooper, the owner of C4 Sports Performance Oklahoma, wants to put the spotlight on the local athletes.

"Developmentally, it helps them get reps," said Cooper. "Especially the kids in Texoma, because a lot of our guys want to play 2,3.4 sports. They need these quality reps before they get back to the fall."

Players like four-star Denison High School defensive back Kenyan Kelly also enjoy the consistent play.

"I say it helps a lot," said Kelly. "It helps with footwork and getting used to coverages."
