MSC softball player named Vice President for NJCAA
TISHOMINGO, Okla (KTEN) -- A softball player at Murray State College was recently elected as the Vice President on the Student Athletic Council for the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Cameron Duncan serves as a liasion between athletes and the Board of Regents who make decisions for all junior college athletes in the country.
In April, she is speaking to the Board of Regents on the importance on mental health in Birmingham, Alabama.
"Junior colleges, they don't have all the resources that NCAA have," said Duncan. "So, my job is going to be representing junior college and telling them we need more counseling, more support, more recognition for our mental health."
Duncan adds it's important for the NJCAA to provide these resources for all athletes.
