ADA, Okla. (KTEN) — In the spring of 2020, Ada contractor Scott Sweeney and his construction company, Tribal Delta, got to work on a new shopping center in the 1400 block of Lonnie Abbott Boulevard, next to Aldi.

“This is a 5600 square-foot three tenant building we’ve been fortunate enough to land some national tenants here will have great clips tropical smoothie Café and T-Mobile,” Sweeney said.”Those will be good tenants that will provide services for the city of Ada and its residents.“

Their vision: Expanding Ada's retail options and attracting more people and businesses to the area.

The project is nearly finished.

"Retail is one of the drivers for growth in a community," Sweeney said. "I'm looking forward to seeing how Ada grows in this area and possibly some other new developments in the area."

Oklahoma Heritage Bank's President, David Keith also recognized the need for more shopping options in the area and helped finance the project.

"I was born and raised in Ada, so I know the need for retail space here," he said. "I think this will be the first of many that will be able to recognize Ada as a place to do business, so we're proud to say that Ada is a place for all of these national names."

Developers plan to have a grand opening once the center is completed. That's expected to happen in mid-March.
