Are you looking to get started In broadcast TV? KTEN Television, the NBC/ABC/CW affiliate in Denison, Texas, is looking for a full-time Production Assistant. This position is perfect for someone looking to get their foot in the door of a TV newsroom/control room.

Job Summary

Our news deportment produces 34 hours of news a week. This position performs various roles for our news production team. An ideal candidate must thrive In a live production atmosphere and be able to react quickly to any issues that arise. We believe in cross-training as much as possible, meaning once you have the necessary training, you could be doing a different role every day. Daily duties for this position include video editing, creating graphics, operating an audio board, plus other technical tasks associated with the production of assigned newscasts.

Responsibilities

  • Must have a good attitude, be willing to learn, and be a team player
  • Must be able to problem-solve quickly and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • A working knowledge of television production equipment
  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Must have flexibility in work schedule and be willing to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Other duties as assigned
  • A pre-employment drug test is required

Education/Experience Level

Experience is not necessary, but education and/or internship in television or related field required. Training will be provided.
