GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KTEN) — Grayson County school districts are bracing for the expected growth coming to the region.

It was just three weeks ago that Texas Instruments selected Sherman as the site for a massive new semiconductor fabrication facility, bringing with it hundreds of new jobs.

Several new housing developments have already been approved across the county, and now schools are turning their attention to what is expected to be a surge in enrollment.

"We are constantly prepping for growth," said Denison Independent School District spokesperson Brian Eaves. "We are constantly aware of changing numbers in the county. We are constantly looking at new growth in particular areas. Right now we are seeing new growth in a couple of particular areas, and are going to have to redistrict a little bit."

Eaves added that Denison ISD will be most impacted at the elementary school level.
