Garvin County man arrested for domestic assault
ELMORE CITY, Okla. (KTEN) -- An Elmore City man faces charges of child abuse and assault.
Garvin County Sheriff Jim Mullett said deputies knew there was a problem as soon as they arrived at the scene. They found the woman who had called 911 running out of the house. She reported that her boyfriend, 29-year-old Mohamed Abdelrahman, had attacked her with a baseball bat.
Deputies found the suspect's five-year-old daughter had burn marks on the soles of her feet. Mullett said they believe those marks came from a knife that was heated by fire and then used on the child.
"The little girl, she sustained some massive blisters on the bottom of her feet to the point where I believe they might even be doing some reconstructive surgery," Mullettt said. "It's very horrific in our minds."
Sheriff Mullett said Abdelrahman believed his girlfriend was being disloyal and was trying to get information from the child.
The suspect faces six different felony charges -- including child abuse, child neglect and assault with intent to kill -- and is being held in the Garvin County Jail with no bond.
