Breaking the barrier of love, marriage
SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) -- We all view love differently. To some it's love at first sight. To some love comes along. Some might be married, some might be life partners. We each get to define love how we want -- that's our own choice. KTEN sat down with a Denny Dallas and Linda Hull to find out what love means to them, and their love has no boundaries.
"We met at a dance hall, started dating after we danced a few times and went on from there," Denny Dallas, Linda's partner said.
"It gradually it took him awhile, to finally make a move," Linda Hull, Denny's partner said. "I probably made the first one if truth be known but it's going on now for 29 years."
Through grand babies and family traditions, traveling to Branson, Missouri and everything in between.
"She's been my friend, my soul mate, my lover and here recently, my care giver," Dallas added.
But some elements have changed. Dallas and Hull decided it was time to move in together -- to an assisted living facility.
"Both of us have medical problems and I guess they got the best of us; I can no longer be his full-time care giver because I am a patient now," said Hull.
No longer apart, and finally under one roof. Dallas and Hull can have help doing basic chores, laundry, cooking and cleaning. But there is one thing that tops all of that.
"We can be together and that's the main thing," said Dallas. I would not have moved here from the house alone; I waited until she was ready to come."
Dallas and Hull are taking on a new routine together while breaking the barrier of love and marriage.
"That piece of paper don't mean that much, it's just a piece of paper," Hull added. "If you want to be married, fine; if you don't, fine."
"Even though you may not be married, commit yourself to that person, love them and be kind to them and take care of them," said Dallas.
The couple wanted to share their story with KTEN to prove love can defy the odds, you can make what you want out of it, and hopefully you'll find a love like theirs.
