More federal help for Oklahoma storm victims
ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) -- President Biden has authorized all Oklahoma counties to receive some federal disaster funding in the wake of last week's winter storms.
The dollars will help homeowners, tenants and business owners with damage repair.
Carter County is one of 16 counties in the state already approved for funding. Eileen's Colossal Cookies owner Kristy Buchanan are hoping the relief from Washington can help replace what her bakery lost in flooding that resulted from the storms.
"We lost our register, all our paper goods... everything that we store underneath we lost," she said. "We lost the refrigerator that we used to have for drinks. So any of our supplies that we use, all of our posters and stuff that we keep on the wall there, they were flooded and lost."
Gov. Kevin Stitt said he will continue to request that more counties be added to the disaster funding eligibility list.
