ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) -- Ardmore police were called to a home in the 500 block of Northwest Avenue early Sunday morning about a man with a shotgun.

Investigators said a man identified as 30-year-old Charles Youngblood, armed with a gun, entered the residence and was confronted by the homeowner.

The homeowner had a gun, too. He fired at the intruder and then left the premises and called police.

Charles Youngblood faces charges of burglary and assault and battery.

Officers found Youngblood inside the residence with a rifle. He was arrested without resistance.

"After he was taken into custody, officers checked him for any injuries and did find that he had a gunshot wound to his upper left thigh," said police spokesperson Capt. Claude Henry.

Youngbood was treated for his injury and jailed.

The court clerk's office said Youngblood faces charges of burglary and threatening to perform an act of violence.
