ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) -- Wingstop in Ardmore is officially open as of Sunday morning. According to the Director of marketing and communications for Vibe Restaurants, Kent Chapin, customers were placing orders before the doors were even open.

During employee training, the business didn’t want to just throw away the food their new workers had made… so they found a solution.

“Typically as part of our training process, we obviously have to prepare the food to get the experience doing it, so with that, rather than throw it out, we donated to various organizations in town.”

Chapin says they distributed wings to medical personnel and first responders, along with various businesses in town.

Chapin also said they have about 30 employees, but are always looking for more.
