(KTEN) -- Despite below freezing temperatures the last eight days, record cold low and high temperatures were broken in Sherman on Tuesday. 

 According to the Sherman Co-op, the previous record low temperature recorded in Sherman was 12° from 2007. The previous record coolest high temperature for the day was 26° back in 1936. 

Below freezing temperatures are expected through Friday, before warmer air returns by the weekend.
