Here are Thursday's updated COVID-19 coronavirus case counts and death tolls as provided by health authorities in Texas and Oklahoma.


OKLAHOMA

(KTEN) -- Oklahoma health officials reported 1,677 new COVID-19 cases and 48 additional deaths on Thursday, including patients in Carter County (1); Coal County (2); Garvin County (2); McCurtain County (1) and Stephens County (1). All but one of the victims were age 65 or older.

The most recently available coronavirus Risk Levels map for the region using data from Tuesday shows all Oklahoma counties in Texoma are in the red "high risk" zone (more than 25 daily new cases per 100,000 people). No counties are in the orange "medium risk" zone (between 10 and 25 daily new cases per 100,000 population) or the yellow "low risk" zone (between 1 and 9 daily new cases per 100,000 population). 

Statistics indicate 93 percent of Oklahomans infected with the coronavirus have recovered.

Oklahoma is ranked 5th out of the 31 states and the District of Columbia considered to be in the "high risk" zone. 

As of Friday, 494,085 Oklahomans had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

(KTEN) -- The Texas Department of State Health Services reported 9,032 new COVID-19 cases and 385 additional deaths on Thursday.

Texas is ranked 7th among the 31 states and the District of Columbia in the "high risk" category. Statistics indicate 99 percent of Texans infected with the coronavirus have recovered.
