SILO, OK -- A Texoma baseball coach in trouble with the law has resigned.

Silo Junior High coach Roy West is accused of throwing baseballs at seventh and eighth grade players during practices as a means of discipline.

West was charged with seven felony counts of injury to a minor last year following an investigation by the Bryan County Sheriff's Office.

West was put on administrative leave following the incident.

The Silo school board accepted West's resignation at Thursday's meeting and says it was a mutual agreement between both parties.

West is scheduled to be back in court for the continuation of his preliminary hearing in early April.
