MARSHALL CO., OK -- It's official.  Local dignitaries broke ground Monday on the new Marshall County Expo Center.

The new expo center's been in the planning stages for several years.  But thanks to a recent federal grant for $150,000, plans can now move forward.  When it's finished, it will house the OSU Extension Office, the Marshall Co. Chamber of Commerce and meeting space for area residents to get together.  Marshall County Commissioner Royce Bartee said, "It's been a long time coming and we're just so glad that it's starting."  OSU Extension Agent David Sorrell added, "We're hoping that being between Madill and Kingston, more centrally located, so I think ease of access and visibility are the key things."  County commissioners will look to hire an architect in September and hopefully start construction by October or November.
