DURANT, OK -- It's a story that's gotten a lot of attention over the past few days. A 60 pound beaver that attacked a five year old boy in Durant. Wednesday the family finds out that the beaver can not be tested for rabies.

The five year old's mother, Tammy Lane, says her son was bitten by the beaver just outside of their apartment over the weekend. Minutes later, lane's boyfriend killed the beaver hoping they could get it tested for rabies. Now, though, authorities say rabies test are not possible due to the damage the animal suffered. Authorities are recommending the five year old boy be treated for rabies anyway just to be on the safe side.
