Thursday Afternoon - The environment across Texoma will become more unstable as the afternoon unfolds with severe storms arriving out of the west. A level 2 out of 5 risk is in place for everyone except for eastern McCurtain County, which is under a level 1 risk. Storms look to move in around 4 PM along the I-35 corridor and lasting through 2 AM Friday morning, eventually exiting into Arkansas. 60-80 MPH wind gusts, quarter to golf ball size hail, and a low tornado threat exists.

Looking Ahead - More storms are possible Friday, which could impact kickoff for Friday night football. Lightning will be a big concern. Rain and severe storm chances push through the weekend, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s. A cold front arrives Sunday, dropping temps into the 80s next week with clearing skies. Rainfall totals over the next 7 days could range from 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts.

Tracking the Tropics - Hurricane Nigel is expected to remain a fish storm out in the central Atlantic. Potential Tropical Cyclone 16 has formed east of Florida and is forecast to make landfall as a tropical storm in the Carolinas. Impacts will be felt all along the Eastern Seaboard. A tropical wave off the African coast have a 70% chance of formation in the next week.
