Two Dead Following Fatal Accident in Carter County

Two people are dead following a one vehicle rollover Wednesday morning in Carter County. It happened around 6 am on Dickson Road, two miles south of Dickson. KTEN's Andrea Kurys reports.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers, two men were traveling north on the county road when their truck went off the right side of the road.

The driver, 26-year-old Randall Foreman of Ardmore, then overcorrected. The 1994 ford truck swerved back over the road off the left side of the road and into the ditch. Foreman tried to correct the truck back onto the roadway again and the truck rolled two and a half times.

Foreman and his passenger, 35-year-old Mark Cryer were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the state medical examiner.

Troopers say unsafe speeds were a contributing factor in the crash.

Trooper Casey Hall said, "The vehicle traveled off the roadway about 74 feet before he applied the brakes before he went back to the left, and it wasn't a sudden swerve, he ran off the road gradually."

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
