Denison's Layne Elementary Receives TAKS' Exemplary Ranking

Posted:
Good news for Denison ISD. Layne Elementary school received an exemplary ranking on the taks test.

To achieve the high rank, schools must have a 90% passing rate for all students, groups and subgroups in all areas tested. Layne's Principal Ginger Brawley says she is thrilled about her student's scores.

"It's an awesome feeling to know that we've achieved that this year. The teachers have worked very hard at it. The parents support the children. And the children have worked very hard. We're very excited about it we want to just cherish the moment because it takes a lot of work to get us here."

Other Denison schools - Hyde Park, Lamar and Mayes Elementary received a recognized ranking. Golden Rule, Houston and Terrell Elementary schools and the middle school and high school all ranked as academically acceptable.
