From news release:

Paris Police Officers responded to a deceased person call at 1420 NE 27 Street at 1:33 PM, 09/20/2006.

Upon arrival, officers found that there were two deceased persons in the residence.

The Department has identified the deceased as a Leslie Lemons, a 26 year old female and a Ryan Keith Farmer a 22 year old male.  Both were residents of Paris. Next of kin have been notified.

Investigators have found that Ms. Lemons had left work for a lunch break and when she did not return at her usual time, a co-worker went to her residence to check on her.  When the co-worker arrived, she found the front door open and entered to find the male's body.  She called 9-1-1.

Officers found the female's body on their entry of the house.  Both were obviously deceased.  Justice of the Peace Ernie Sparks made the pronouncements and ordered autopsies.

Investigation has revealed that Mr. Farmer and Ms. Lemons had been involved in a relationship.  Mr. Farmer had a single gunshot wound to the head and Ms. Lemons had two gunshot wounds, one in the mid torso area and one to the head.  A shotgun was recovered from the scene.

At this point in the investigation, it appears that Mr. Farmer shot Ms. Lemons before taking his own life. A witness in the area had observed Mr. Farmer's arrival at the residence.

Investigation is continuing. Sgt. Shane Boatwright is the lead investigator on this case.
