Southbound I-35 Closed at Marietta for OHP Accident Investigation

One person is dead after a fiery four-car pile-up on I-35 in Love County. It happened just before midnight Wednesday morning, just south of Marietta.

Troopers say the driver hit one car, then swerved and was hit by a semi-tractor and pushed into another car.

The victim's car then caught fire and the semi also burned.

The victim's name has not been released.

No other injuries are reported.

Below is a news release from ODOT, telling about a two-hour closure of the highway, so that OHP can investigate further.

Southbound I-35 to temporarily close at Marietta beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Today, southbound I-35 will be closed in southern Oklahoma between Marietta (mile marker 15) and Thackerville (mile marker 5) while the Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigates an accident location.

A detour will be in place using US-77. The closure is expected to last approximately two hours.
