Dr. Chris A. Knobbe was born and raised in the small town of Lamar, Colorado. After receiving a bachelor of science degree at the University of Southern Colorado, he attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, graduating and receiving his Doctor of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Knobbe completed a one year internship at Denver Presbyterian and St. Luke’s hospitals before beginning a three year ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. This residency program included rotations at University Hospital, Denver General Hospital, Children’s Hospital, the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, and Porter Memorial Hospital.
Upon completion of ophthalmology residency in June 1994, Dr. Knobbe moved from Denver to Liberal, Kansas, where he practiced cataract and refractive surgery for the following four years. He also achieved certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology while in Liberal. Dr. Knobbe subsequently relocated his practice to Denison, Texas where he remains in private solo practice. Dr. Knobbe is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he teaches resident ophthalmologists the latest techniques in phacoemulsification cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation. He is also the founder of the highly recognized web site, EyeMDLink.com.
