CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- Motorists who travel on County Line Road west of Overbrook will soon have a smoother commute thanks to an $8 million project.

The road divides Carter and Love counties, and has been in rough shape for years from the number of trucks traveling the stretch of road.

"There's a large residential area to the west of here that filters through here to I-35," said Carter County District 3 Commissioner Jerry Alvord. He added that projects like this help the county's economy.

"This road will improve safety; this road will improve property values; this road will bring people to the area with positive road systems like this," he said.

Weather permitting, the upgrade will be ready for traffic in March.
