ANNA, Texas -- Van Alstyne's Chamber of Commerce held a big celebrity golf tournament on Monday.

Former NFL players helped raise money for future events of the Van Alstyne Special Olympics team.

Gary Reasons, a linebacker who was on two Super Bowl championship teams with the New York Giants, was one of 11 retired NFL players to participate in the Ultimate Fan Tournament.

"I've been involved with the Special Olympics many, many years," he said. "When you're able to see the challenges that young people overcome and that they have a chance to compete and really enjoy sport, that's what it's all about. I applaud them."

The Van Alstyne Chamber said its event reached its goals.
