November is Native American Heritage Month.The Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur is kicking off the celebration with a special event this Saturday.

Native American Heritage Day highlights cultural and historic contributions, including traditional dance and food.

"We're able to share the stage with many tribal nations from across the State of Oklahoma to come together, to celebrate our tribal cultures and histories, our traditions and our contributions of native people as a whole," said Fran Parchcorn, the cultural center's director of event operations.

Admission is free to the event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Visitors can also take home a free plant and pumpkin.
