Police: Anna man admits to car break-in spree

Posted: Updated:

ANNA, Texas -- An Anna man accused of a car break-in spree in June is now being charged.

Chase Chandler stands accused of 25 vehicle break-ins in Anna's Camden Parc subdivision.  Some of the items allegedly stolen include a handgun, purses, keys and credit cards. Investigators said only unlocked cars were targeted.

Police said multiple security cameras in the neighborhood captured images of the suspect, and that Chandler has admitted to the burglaries.

"This was a huge win for the police department," Sgt. Chad Butler said. "We recovered almost all of the items that were taken, which includes the handgun that was stolen."

Police said Chandler has a history of vehicle break-ins in Anna and surrounding communities.

He's behind bars in the Collin County Jail facing three felony charges.
