Adding squash and pumpkin to your fall menu

DENISON, Texas -- Executive Chef Diana Larkins from Prop-Strike Cafe near North Texas Regional Airport visited KTEN Midday News Monday to demonstrate many of the delicious things you can make to eat using two gourds that are more often used for fall decor: Squash and pumpkins.

Larkins said the options include making sauce (savory or sweet), butternut pumpkin sage soup, and roasting the seeds from pumpkins.

Prop-Strike Cafe, at 5300 Airport Drive in Denison, is open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 p.m. to 7 p.m.
