Young superheroes to run through downtown Ardmore

Posted: Updated:

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Be prepared to do a double-take if you're driving through Ardmore on Saturday morning.

You might spot a young Captain America or Iron Man in the first-ever CASA Superhero Fun Run.

The event, for ages 2 through 12, is the brainchild of CASA of Southern Oklahoma, aiming to bring awareness to CASA's efforts to train volunteers as advocates for children in court cases.

"We are really trying to promote it," said CASA board member Alexa White. "We would love to have great participation. We've already had a lot of participation from businesses in the Ardmore area."

Registration begins Saturday morning at 8:30 downtown near the new Roundabout. Entries are $3 per child, and in addition to the run, there will be games and booths for youngsters.
