Denison events raise money for cancer patients

Posted: Updated:

DENISON, Texas -- Sam Ereckson died in a motorcycle crash in 2015.

On Saturday, for the fourth consecutive year, friends of Ereckson are staging special events in his memory. Les McConnell and Jeff Miles talked about the day with KTEN Midday News anchor Carley Banks.

In the morning, there's a Rod and Jeep Show at the North Rig Grill at 414 North US 75 in Denison. Anyone with a car, jeep or motorcycle to show off is welcome to participate, and there will be prizes awarded.

Then in the afternoon, a Fun Run starts at the Kiotee Club, 623 South Mirick Avenue, in Denison, and travels to Holly's Border Bar in Colbert, Oklahoma, before returning to Denison for live music and raffles.

All proceeds go to MD Anderson Cancer Center and local benefits.
