ADA, Okla. -- An Ada man faces charges of kidnapping and assault and battery with a deadly weapon after multiple incidents involving his former girlfriend.

Deputies said 29-year-old William Henry Hardin chased ex-girlfriend Anna Knutson and her current boyfriend in his truck, trying to run them off the road on September 5.

Knutson said Hardin's vehicle smashed into her car multiple times before turning back.

"I think maybe he realized at some point that his daughter was in one of the vehicles, and doing that, maybe he had enough concern for her," Pontotoc County Sheriff John Christian said.

Three days earlier, Hardin and Knutson reportedly had another difficult encounter when exchanging property.

"She did meet with him, and then he took her keys and wouldn't let her leave for like four hours," Christian said.

Hardin was released Monday after posting a $10,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on September 20.
