Tripp Bird sentenced to 7 years in prison

(4:21 p.m.) UPDATE -- A Grayson County jury has sentenced Tripp Bird to 7 years in prison on the count of Aggravated Assault and 10 years probation on the count of Failure to Stop and Render Aid. 

SHERMAN, Texas -- A Grayson County jury has convicted Tripp Bird on Aggravated Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid charges.

Bird is one of two men accused in connection with a road rage incident in 2016 that led to the death of Jennifer Russell.  

The same jury that convicted Bird is also considering his punishment.
