GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas — Denison and Sherman police are working together to find the man who robbed multiple convenience stores in the last few weeks.

Because of similarities in the crimes, investigators are convinced they're looking for one suspect.

"Circumstance surround the cases: Same description of the suspects, kind of doing the same thing, taking the register and then fleeing on foot,"  said Sherman police Sgt. Brett Mullen. "We believe the cases are related, so we are communicating with Denison and working with them closely to investigate this matter and try to find out who it is."

Officials said the suspect hit a third convenience store on Monday night using the same technique,  but this time he displayed no weapon.

"Took the register from the counter, then ran out the door," Mullen said. "In this case, he didn't present a weapon... he just took the register and ran out. So this one's being investigated as a burglary rather than a robbery."

Police are confident that the measures they are taking — along with clear surveillance footage — will lead them to the suspect.

"The video is a huge thing, because if we can't readily identify someone we will put it out on social media and also on the news media," Denison police Lt. Michael Eppler said. "We get really good responses from that, because someone knows who it is, and somebody knows what happened."

Although both Sherman and Denison are actively searching, they still encourage the public to contact them with helpful information.
