ARDMORE, Okla. -- An Ardmore woman is jailed after police say she tried to take her two-year-old child from Department of Human Services custody on Monday.

"I think they were supposed to be walking over to the McDonald's for a supervised visit or something like that, and she went the opposite direction," Ardmore police spokesman Capt. Keith Ingle said.

The DHS supervisor immediately called for help after 27-year-old Genesee Stone began to flee.

Officers caught up with her in the 500 block of F Street NW shortly after the initial call.

"She was kicking and screaming, of course, and trying to get away," said Ardmore police spokesman Capt. Keith Ingle. "They were able to get the child away from her without any harm coming to the child."

Stone is being held in the Carter County jail on a $15,000 bond. Her court date is set for September 19.
