Looking for the best scuba diving in the world? Then keep reading. We tell you all the best spots!
You’ve heard of coral reefs before, but what about coral gardens? Cape Kri has a magnificent one filled with sharks, barracudas, manta rays, and giant trevallies.
This dive spot is one of the best in the world since you can find 374 species of fish here. With every twist and turn, you’re sure to witness something new and exciting.
The Yongala offers a unique scuba diving experience since it’s a shipwreck located just off Queensland. This ship sank in 1911 because of a cyclone. It became protected under the Historic Shipwrecks Act in 1981.
When you dive here, you’ll see not only coral, but also octopi, sharks, manta rays, sea snakes, turtles, and a diverse range of fish. While you’ll get to dive around it, unfortunately, you won’t be able to get into The Yongala itself.
As the name suggests, this is a huge hole that’s created by the coral reef. The hole goes down 143 meters and has maybe the greatest visibility you’ll ever come across; on average, there are 30 meters of visibility.
At this diving hole, it has both salt and fresh water, so you’ll find tuna, mako, and sharks. If you go down 40 meters, you’ll observe the beautiful stalagmites and stalactites in the caverns.
While you’ll see plenty of barracudas at this scuba diving site, there’s definitely more sea life to witness when you come here. In addition to barracuda, you’ll also see coral, coconut crabs, sea turtles, groupers, buffalo fish, and humphead parrotfish.
Occasionally, you’ll get strong currents at Barracuda Point, so make sure you’re in good shape before you go.
If you want to stay within the country, then fly over to Kailua Kona, Hawaii, where you can go on a manta ray night dive. Here, they put lights in the ocean at nighttime to attract plankton, which manta rays eat.
This is another dive site where currents can be strong, so visibility may not be good at times. But if you choose a good day, you’ll have an unforgettable experience.
